<COL>

The column tag is used to define the columns which make up a tables column group. Column groups are defined using the COLGROUP tag.

The COL element does not contain any information. It simply serves as a placeholder for marking the number and location of columns.

Attributes

Attribute Description
ID Identifies this tag to reference in script (program code)
CLASS Define the class used to render this element (defined by a style sheet)
TITLE A title that is associated with the element (displayed as a tooltip in Internet Explorer)
SPAN Specifies the number of columns which should be spanned by the COL element
WIDTH Defines the default width for the COL element
