The BLOCKQUOTE tag is used to create an indented block of text exactly like this paragraph you are reading here. It acts like a paragraph to create vertical spacing from the surrounding elements as well as an arbitrary indentation from the margin.

Attribute Description ID Identifies this tag to reference in script (program code) CLASS Define the class used to render this element (defined by a style sheet) TITLE A title that is associated with the element (displayed as a tooltip in Internet Explorer) CITE Indicates the source from which the quote or information was taken. This should be in the form of a URI meaning the resource is located on the Internet
